Ye Wu
Wu Ye has been in love with music since childhood, and followed complete vocal studies as a teenager. She obtained her bachelor's degree from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. After graduating, she became a professional singer at the China Xiamen Opera & Dance Theater, taking on various roles in many television and stage dramas. She won an outstanding award in a singing contest organised by the Chinese Ministry of Culture in 2013. She was a soloist and choir member in the symphonic opera "Nanyin", conducted by the famous Chinese composer He Zhanhao, performing at Taiwan's Founding Fathers Memorial Hall and touring several Taiwanese cities, to great acclaim. In 2014 she was invited to perform at the Chinese National Theatre in Beijing. Wu Ye is a spinto soprano who obtained her Master's degree in Vocal Studies at the Royal Antwerp Conservatory in 2015, as a pupil of Stephanie Friede. She gave successful solo recitals at deSingel, Antwerp, in November 2017 and June 2018, and sang the role of the Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro in June 2017. After her singing exam in the Blauwe Zaal of deSingel, where she sang, among others, Strauss's Vier Letzte Lieder, she obtained her Master's diploma. She is frequently invited to give concerts at the Chinese Mission to the European Union and the Chinese Embassy in Belgium, and is becoming a true bridge between Chinese and European culture and art. She currently lives in Belgium.
