Piet Van Steenbergen

Piet Van Steenbergen studied guitar (with Jef Goor) and viola da gamba (with Wieland Kuijken) at the Brussels Conservatory. He teaches both instruments at the music academy of Wijnegem. He regularly collaborates with various ensembles: he took part in the Praetorius Festival in Creuzburg and Wolfenbüttel (Germany) with the ensemble Musica Fura, and has given concerts with, among others, The Great Charm and the ensemble Dialogue. Also of note are the concerts under the name "Les goûts réunis" with organist-harpsichordist Christophe Bursens and wine expert Riad Hoxhaxhiku, in which wine tasting goes hand in hand with fitting music. In recent years he has also taken up the lute.
