Harp & recorder

Emi Shiraki was born in Osaka (Japan). She began studying music at the age of 5 and the recorder at the age of 9. Passionate about early music from a very young age, she graduated in recorder from Soai University in Osaka. She then decided to discover Europe and to continue her musical training there, earning a specialised Master's in recorder at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.

She also holds a diploma (DEM) in early harp from the Conservatoire Francis Poulenc à Rayonnement Régional of Tours in France, followed by a specialised Master's in early harp at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She is also active as a continuo player for several renowned chamber-music and baroque-opera ensembles.

Today she plays in a world-music project blending several traditions. Having grown up exchanging with musicians of diverse traditions, her vocation is to convey her passion for music to the public.
